Hi, my darling ghouls -
Happy voting day! Happy 10 days left til Halloween! I hope you have your costume picked.
Today’s newsletter’s so fast, you’ll blink and miss it. So today we’ll…
💌 rehash this whole voting thing,
💌 learn how to get in on the fun,
💌 and vote on the required action and word for this month’s microfiction, choose the theme for November, AND suggest future topics.
🗳 What’s the deal with voting?
Every month, y’all vote on two things: the following month’s theme and microfiction prompts I have to follow when writing you a thematically relevant story.
Whatever historical snail mail topic you choose, I research it into the ground and tell you everything I learned on about the 10th each month.
Then, Postcard Club members and my Patreon crew vote on a required word and action that must appear in the story.
Once voting closes on the 28th, I’ll write you a story short enough to fit on a postcard in just 72 hours, using the prompts you picked and (normally) thematically connected to the month’s topic.
For a reminder, last week we talked about political prisoners and Kmart Halloween decorations:
But in honor of the spooky season, I’ll be writing you a Halloweeny story instead, to accompany pictures of this month’s postcard art I mail to Postcard Club. You can bet it’ll be deliciously spooky. September’s art was sent in envelopes so beautiful I wanted to eat them:
Once my story’s out in the world for you, it’s your turn. Write your own microfiction that follows the prompts, then post it in the comments, email it to me (if you’re feeling shy), or make a paper airplane and chuck it real hard to France.
Voting is fun! Easy! And signing up gives you annual art that’s pretty enough to hang in your home:

You ready? Allez, let’s vote~
