Howdy, friends old and new~
I’m officially back from a whirlwind of travel and eager to get our microfiction going for August. As always, the voting newsletter’s short and sweet. I’ll…
💌 explain how voting works for all you sweet new faces,
💌 tell ya how to best get in on the action,
💌 and share the poll so you can vote on the required action and word for our monthly microfiction, choose September’s mail topic, AND suggest future themes!
🗳 How it works
Each month, I research the shit out of one juicy piece of historical mail and write an article about it. This time, it was Ankhesunamun’s letter demanding a neighboring king’s son for marriage:
Paid subscribers and my Patreon crew then have ten days to vote on the accompanying microfiction’s required word and action, plus select the following month’s historical mail topic.
Once the voting’s in, I’ll write a story short enough to fit on a postcard using the prompts y’all choose in just 72 hours. This month, voting closes on the 25th and my fiction will make it into your digital hands by the 28th!
Once my story’s up and available, I pass the baton onto y’all. Write your own microfiction according to the prompts, then post it in the comments, email it to me in private (this seems to be y’all’s favorite approach), or send it down Canal du Midi in a bottle and cross your fingies.
To get in on the voting, you can upgrade your subscription…
join my Patreon for as low as $2 a month to vote…
or refer three folks to my newsletter for a free month of voting!
